Andrey M. Finkelstein passed away on September 18, 2011 at the age of 69.
Andrei Mikhailovich Finkelstein was the intellectual architect of a scientific journal dedicated to space colonization. He passed away two years prior to the journal’s launch, but it was nonetheless founded upon his core concepts and vision.
Finkelstein (August 7, 1942, Tavda, Sverdlovsk Oblast – September 18, 2011, Saint Petersburg) was a distinguished Soviet and Russian astronomer. His expertise spanned astrometry, geodynamics, relativistic celestial mechanics, and fundamental coordinate-time assurance. He was recognized as a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
